[Open Post] ..Tuesday afternoon..

Lancelot feels that things have been a strange mix of tumult and routine. This is probably because they have. But today, so far, is routine in all respects. His day has proceeded apace through his usual steps -- drills, tending to Rivelin, coffee, lunch with Susan -- and the afternoon is now stretching out before him in a very satisfying way. He feels good, settled.

And so it is that he's in the café, reading (or mostly reading), with more coffee at hand. Given that he seems to be splitting time equally between having his eyes on his book and gazing out the window, he will not be bothered if anyone comes to chat.

"Unmatched powers of observation, clearly." His grin, while still certainly not lacking flirtatiousness of its own, grows impish. "Now observe me continue my mission to make your quest more difficult." And then he turns back to the game, releasing the paddle button and hitting it again in quick succession to put the ball back into play.

"Do go on," he says, "I like to see what thou'rt capable of."

[futaille]

He keeps playing, grinning down at the table. "Capable of in pinball, I'm assuming?"

[lanselos_du_lac]

"Mm, for now," chuckling. "I'll determine the rest later."

[futaille]

"Oh, I'll certainly look forward to that," he says right as he misses the next ball. Still, though, thanks to the multiball, he's in a good spot as he launches the next one.

[lanselos_du_lac]

"I certainly hope thou dost." He shifts to turn and eye Grantaire's score. "I shall have to try harder to distract thee-- thou'rt on a quest to make mine own more challenging."

[futaille]

Grantaire laughs, clear and easy. "You've not done a bad job of it so far, but I am quite determined."

[lanselos_du_lac]

"That I can see," in a tone of musing. "I should have kissed thee a moment ago, when I was thinking of it."

[futaille]

He grins and fires the ball around a ramp. "Ah, yes, that certainly would have been distracting."

[lanselos_du_lac]

"I would hope so," with a put-on wistfulness. "Alas."

[futaille]

He grins wryly. "Take it as a lesson in timing. A skill which is also useful in pinball, coincidentally."

[lanselos_du_lac]

"A lesson learned. Next time I won't hesitate."

[futaille]

"Experience is, as always, an excellent instructor."

[lanselos_du_lac]

"I shall have to simply observe thy mastery, now."

[futaille]

"That does seem to be the option of choice, yes."

[lanselos_du_lac]

"I will seek inspiration, then," turning back.

[futaille]

He chances an extremely fleeting glance to Lancelot before returning to the game and recovering with no issues. "See that you do."

[lanselos_du_lac]

"How could I not?"

[futaille]

"One never knows. You could take leave of your senses, although I truly hope not."

[lanselos_du_lac]

"Ah, no, I'd need some assistance, I should think."

[futaille]

"In taking leave of your senses?"

[lanselos_du_lac]

"Oh, perhaps." He casts about, as if for his wine glass, but once again his gaze settles on Grantaire. "If thou knowst any who might be of help."

[futaille]

He laughs a little. "Once this game is finished, I'd be more than happy to assist however you'd like. At the moment, I'm still on a quest, though."

[lanselos_du_lac]

"I see. I can respect that."

[futaille]

"And I respect that you can respect it even if my quest is directly opposed to your own."
