Lancelot feels that things have been a strange mix of tumult and routine. This is probably because they have. But today, so far, is routine in all respects. His day has proceeded apace through his usual steps -- drills, tending to Rivelin, coffee, lunch with Susan -- and the afternoon is now stretching out before him in a very satisfying way. He feels good, settled.

And so it is that he's in the café, reading (or mostly reading), with more coffee at hand. Given that he seems to be splitting time equally between having his eyes on his book and gazing out the window, he will not be bothered if anyone comes to chat.

"Ah, Christ," he murmurs when he pauses briefly for breath.

[futaille]

Grantaire laughs, a little bit breathlessly. "Excellent summary, I don't have much to add."

[lanselos_du_lac]

Lancelot takes a breath, still caressing Grantaire's neck lightly for a moment before he eases back, smoothing a hand down his shirt.

[futaille]

He smiles, relaxing a bit himself. "There is a chance I could get used to that."

[lanselos_du_lac]

"Dost think so?" He's still a little breathless. "I easily could."

[futaille]

And there's another laugh, a soft but delighted one. "Well, I'm inclined to let you."

[lanselos_du_lac]

"I'd been very much grateful."

[futaille]

"There's a surprising amount of things to be grateful for here."

[lanselos_du_lac]

"Thou'rt among them." He darts in for another quick kiss.

[futaille]

"If that's the case, you're more so, I assure you."

[lanselos_du_lac]

"Flattery," loftily.

[futaille]

"The truth puts you in a flattering light."

[lanselos_du_lac]

A laugh, "Thou'rt impossible."

[futaille]

A bright answering laugh. "I will add you to the long list of people who have described me so."

[lanselos_du_lac]

"See that thou dost."

[futaille]

He grins. "They'll be thrilled by the illustrious company, I'm sure."

[lanselos_du_lac]

A little roll of his eyes, "I doubt it not. Know this, though-- soon enough, thou'lt find thyself defeated here."

[futaille]

"Oh, I'm sure I will. I doubt many things, but not that. But I also know that as soon as I am, I'll work to regain my title once more."

[lanselos_du_lac]

"I expect nothing less."
